More than 100,000 people have been arrested in Zimbabwe for allegedly disobeying containment measures since late March, police have said.
A police spokesman, Paul Nyathi, said:
"The police are disturbed by the number of people who have been arrested for not wearing masks, non-essential travel and prohibited gatherings. 104,349 people have been arrested for violating national containment measures."
Officially, Zimbabwe has so far recorded 1,478 cases of COVID-19, including 25 fatalities.
