Short Update: Visits soon to start again in Belgian prisons

FairTrialsAdmin - May 18, 2020 - COVID-19 Updates, prison conditions

As reported by media outlet De Zondag, Belgian Minister of Justice Koen Geens is planning on authorising physical visits in prisons again, starting from 25 May 2020. Each inmate will be allowed one visit per week, preferably always from the same person. Children will not be admitted and distancing measures will of course remain in place. Physical visits have been put on hold since mid-March.
