The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has updated its guidance on Covid-19 funding for domestic abuse and sexual violence support services. On 29 May, it announced that funding will be distributed through two separate funds, one through Police and Crime Commissioners (PCC) and one through the national Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Fund. There will also be a separate extra £3 million given to PCCs specifically to fund Independent Sexual Violence Advisers (ISVAs) until 2022. PCCs will conduct needs assessments to distribute COVID-19 related emergency funding in relation to both sexual violence and domestic abuse support services in their local area. The deadline for organisations to send information to PCCs is 5 June 2020.
