FairTrialsAdmin - August 4, 2020 - COVID-19 Updates, Prison conditions

On 31 July 2020, the Ministry of Justice updated the guidance on preventing and controlling outbreaks of COVID-19 in prisons. In line with an announcement by the UK's Chief Medical Officers, any prisoner or detainee with symptoms of COVID-19 will be placed into protective custody for at least 10 days, as opposed to 7 days as previously required. This is in line with guidance issued for everyone in the UK.
