Short Update: UK imposes restrictions on prisoners and prison conditions

On 31 March 2020, the UK government published an update on prisons. The guide highlights measures taken for prisoners' safety in the face of coronavirus, new limits on prisoners' recreational activities, suspension of face-to-face Parole Board hearings and new jury trials, case progression by the Parole Board to now be via remote hearings and paper review, and work on improving video conferencing in prisons to allow access to legal teams.
