FairTrialsAdmin - July 15, 2020 - COVID-19 Updates, Prison conditions

At least 1,082 positive cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the country's prisons, according to an official statistical report. From this total number of infected prisoners, 807 have recovered.

Faced with these statistical data, Panamanian authorities pledged to redouble their efforts to protect people deprived of their liberty and to provide them with the appropriate conditions of confinement to guarantee their dignity and human rights.
