Short Update: Organisation Antigone publishes new report recounting the situation of Italian prisons during Coronavirus

The report shows that prison population has been successfully reduced following the first measures to limit the numbers of the prison population to combat the spread of the Coronavirus in prison. Women and foreigners have been the principal beneficiaries of the measures.  

The report also recounts the number of positive cases (287) and deaths (4) among inmates, according to official data made public in July.
