Short Update: National Police Chief’s Council in UK updates the processing of COVID-19 related FOIA requests

FairTrialsAdmin - April 30, 2020 - COVID-19 Updates, Extended police powers, Surveillance

The National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) updated its "Operation Talla Publication Strategy" regarding Freedom of Information (FOIA) requests related to COVID-19. This entailed changes to the processing of such requests in order that relevant third parties could be adequately consulted beforehand. All such FOIA requests are now mandatorily referred to the NPCC Freedom of Information and Data Protection Unit for consideration.
