Short Update: Luxembourg brings in new restrictions and police fines to stop COVID-19

FairTrialsAdmin - July 28, 2020 - COVID-19 Updates, New criminal offences

Luxembourg has brought in new restrictions to control the spread of COVID-19. These include a ban on gatherings of more than 10 people, not including people who live together, unless such gatherings are where there is allocated and socially distanced seating. Masks are compulsory on public transport, shops, and cultural and leisure activities. Failure or refusal to follow any measure of isolation or quarantine as ordered by the director of health or a delegate are punishable by a fine of 25 to 500 euros.

There are also strict social distancing requirements for businesses, with fines of 4,000 euros for non-compliance - which can be doubled for a repeat offense.
