On 6 April, UK politician, Harriet Harman MP (also the Chair of the Joint Committee on Human Rights) sent a letter to the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Dame Cressida Dick. In the letter, she urges the Police Commissioner to "be clear" about instructions issued to officers to enforce social distancing rules. She also asked the Police Commissioner to send the guidance issued to individual officers or Borough commanders to her.
The letter came as the UK Parliament’s Joint Committee on Human Rights announced an inquiry on the human rights implications of the government's response to COVID-19.
