As a result of the increased risk of infection posed by direct contact with people, interpretation services are now being delivered via Distance Interpreting (DI) - mostly by switching to video conferencing and phone calls.
Lawyers have reported they prefer video conferencing to phone calls, with one expressing: “It won't be a perfect solution, but a reasonable understanding of the limitations, the risks and the potential of DI will not only save you a lot of time, it may even improve the chance of some sort of justice.”
