The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative has sent a petition to the Indian National Human Rights Commission urging an investigation into the deaths of 15 people following police action during the country’s lockdown.
The 15 victims, all men, died between March 25th and April 30th. Three of the men died in police custody while 12 died after alleged beating in public by police.
