Short Update: HMCTS and MOJ update their guidance on courts and tribunals planning and preparation

FairTrialsAdmin - April 30, 2020 - COVID-19 Updates, Remote Justice

Her Majesty Courts and Tribunal Services ("HMCTS") and the Ministry of Justice ("MOJ") have updated their guidance on courts and tribunals planning and preparation during the COVID-19 pandemic with information on the creation of a judicial working group. This has been established to consider methods of restarting jury trials when it is safe to do so. The working group will report to the Lord Chief Justice and includes representatives from the Criminal Bar Association, the Criminal Prosecution Services and the Legal Aid Agency.
