The first COVID-19 infection has been confirmed in a Greek prison, after a prisoner in Athens’ high-security Korydallos Prison tested positive. The man was transferred to hospital for treatment.
A team of health workers from the Greek National Organization of Public Health (EODY) will visit the prison to collect samples from other prisoners who may have come into contact with the patient.
Greek health authorities have reported 16 new COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours, raising the new total to 3,302, however no new deaths were recorded.
