The EU Ministers of justice held a videoconference on 6 April. Representatives of the European Commission and Member States discussed the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the judiciary. They also exchanged information on measures taken by Member State's governments to prevent its spread. The European Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders, outlined activities aimed at reducing the negative effects of the pandemic on citizens, that the European Commission is implementing in the area of justice. An initiative was also presented to establish a Crisis Group on the European Arrest Warrant whose task would be to address the practical problems caused by the pandemic in the implementation of this instrument.
