Short Update: EU Commissioner for Justice writes to EU justice ministers to highlight plans on EAW and victims of crime

The EU Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders has written to ministers for justice across the EU to reassure Member States with plans to ensure the continued operation of the European Arrest Warrant. He also recognised the need for more to be done to protect the rights of victims of crime, including victims of domestic violence, but he made no explicit reference to the need to address challenges faced by criminal defendants.
