Short Update: The Ecuadorean National Court of Justice adopts measures in response to Coronavirus

The National Court of Justice has introduced a number of measures to combat the spread of coronavirus, including:  

  • Mandatory coronavirus tests for employees (3 cases have been reported so far); 

  • Access to the court is only permitted with the use of a mask, a temperature check and using disinfectant on hands and shoes;  

  • Employees are working on a rotational basis;   

  • 8 court rooms have been set up in order to respect social distancing; and  

  • Online sessions as well as an online platform for submissions to allow lawyers to access the court system remotely.
