Argentina has recorded a total of 304 contagions and 12 deaths within its federal prisons' population, according to the Procuraduría de Violencia Institucional (Procuvin).
The information has been processed with data provided by the Federal Penitentiary Service (SPF), which establishes the average age of the deceased to be 67 years.
SPF has been reporting daily, since July 2020, information on administered tests, confirmed cases and deceased prison population, in relation to federal establishments.
Since COVID-19 related measures have been instituted, Procuvin has called for assistance for inmates to guarantee communications with relatives and legal counsels and for the supply of personal hygiene elements for the prison population.
