Short Update: Belgian government extends COVID-19 measures

FairTrialsAdmin - May 4, 2020 - COVID-19 Updates, Extended police powers, Remote Justice

On 28 April 2020, the Belgian government has extended by two weeks the period of validity of certain measures previously adopted to contain the spread of COVID-19 in prisons and mitigating the impact of the health crisis on police and investigation work (see our previous update on 10 April 2020). As a result, most of those measures will now expire on 17 May 2020, unless extended again by the government.
