After being wrongfully arrested in 2019 and coerced into a guilty plea, Angelica developed a strong commitment to advocating for procedural protections, including access to legal counsel, interpretation services, and fair bail practices. She contributes to initiatives addressing fair trial violations, criminal justice reform and the role of lived experience in shaping equitable justice systems.
