Fair Trials is looking for a Legal and Policy Officer to contribute to the development and implementation of Fair Trials’ work, ensuring justice, equality and fairness in criminal justice systems. A specific focus of the role will be to coordinate the Legal Experts Advisory Panel (LEAP) network in Europe to maximise its impact. The role will encompass a range of activities including: research and investigation, advocacy, and project management in relation to criminal justice systems, policing, and artificial intelligence.

Interns and externs (Washington DC)

We welcome applications from students who would like to join Fair Trials as an intern or extern. The Americas division of Fair Trials covers work in the United States and Latin America. Please indicate in your application which geographic area you would like to focus on (the US or Latin America). If your preference is to focus on our work in Latin America, please note that we are specifically seeking applicants who speak fluent Spanish and/or Portuguese. English fluency is not required but welcomed.

Interns will be based in our Americas office in Washington DC or choose to work remotely from the US or Latin America. We do not accept any unpaid interns. You must receive funding for an internship (through your school or another public interest funding source) or apply for school credit to extern with Fair Trials.
