Fair Trials' intervention in Prisacaru v. Belgium and Romania

March 5, 2018

Fair Trials has submitted written comments, with the help of UK barrister and LEAP member Alex Tinsley, in case Prisacaru v. Belgium and Romania before the European Court of Human Rights. This case concerns the application of Convention rights to European Arrest Warrant (EAW) proceedings. In the submission, we address the Court on the gradual but, as yet, insufficient recognition of the place of fundamental rights in the EAW system, and suggest how the Court could proceed in the context of the opportunity presented by this case. You can read the full submission here.
