The European Prison Observatory has published an update on what’s happening in European prisons in relation to COVID-19.
In France, as of May 15, 120 inmates and 302 prison staff members have tested positive for Coronavirus.
In the Netherlands, several people in prisons have been diagnosed with COVID-19, while prisoners protested against reduced outdoor time.
In Romania, the right to visits, gifts and leave from prisons have all been suspended.
In Spain, there are 60 infections among detainees and 258 among prison staff.
