Verónica Hinestroza

Verónica is responsible for advising Fair Trials on strategic priorities for work in Latin America and for developing and delivering projects and policy documents related to the functioning of the criminal justice systems in the region. Verónica is a founding member of the Omega Research Foundation Network of Experts and a certified Justice Rapid Response investigations specialist. Verónica served on the Steering Committee of the Principles on Effective Interviewing for Investigations and Information Gathering (The Mendez Principles) and the working group updating the Istanbul Protocol; the United Nations Manual for the Effective Investigation and Documentation of Torture.

Verónica holds an LLM in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex, an MA in Politics of Alternative Development from the Institute of Social Studies and a BA in Government and International Relations from the Externado de Colombia University.
